TikiRob’s Mug Making began back in 2007

The design and creation of the first ever Maui Tiki Mug

Tiki Mug Sketch Tiki Mug rendering I had no clue how to make a tiki mug, but I had been collecting mugs since discovering MunkTiki in 2002. I really wanted to make my own so I started sketching my ideas in paper and on the computer.

A friend had manufacturing connections in China and they actually took my sketch and turned out a sculpt and samples within a few months.

By January of 2007 I had 450 mugs in my garage! I sold 150 sets of three colors to my friends on Tiki central and even advertised in early issues of Tiki Magazine. They sold for $13.95 or the matching number set for $34.95

Original 3 Tiki MugsWithin 6 months they were pretty much gone. I had a few Brown and Green versions left which became party favors at my 40th birthday tiki beach party. I built a Tiki Bar for the party and still use it in my Tiki room to this day! TikiRob's Birthday

I have one set left (#2) which is available for $500. Send me an email if you are interested.

My second tiki mug and my first sculpt is the carson mug.

It was named Carson as an awareness tool soon after my diagnosis of Carcinoid cancer. My initial firing was 10 artist proofs with chrome Fish Hooks. I will always keep my very first mug but I do still have one from my first firing available for a serious collector. I learned what colors I liked from the artist proofs and used what i learned for my second batch, which was 25 mugs. 12 glossy green with a yellow interior and 13 matte green with a white speckled interior. I have one Matte finished mug still available, but I’m saving it for a serious collector of my mugs.
